Cocoa fumigation

Insects that destroy stored products, such as the cocoa moth (Ephestia elutella), can cause major damage in stored cocoa stocks. These insects contaminate the cocoa by leaving excrements and webs, while the larvae eat their way through the beans themselves. This deterioration decreases the quality of the cocoa, leading to sizeable economic damage. Solving this problem may seem complex, but EWS has the ideal solution available for you: cocoa fumigation!

EWS can fumigate your cocoa, whether its stored in bags, big bags, silos, barges and containers. The species that destroy your stored products are neutralised in all their life stages by fumigating them with sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2). Alternative treatments with phosphine or low oxygen also prove effective. For more information about these methods, please visit EWS Bio treatment.
